Our Mission

Khadarlis for Sierra Leone’s mission is to provide villages in Sierra Leone with basic portable water supply systems, implementing and fostering solar electricity, health education and infection control programs. We will be networking directly with the villagers (hands on) to build housing with their natural resources. Sierra Leone is a country where 70% of the income comes from farming. We want to help implement programs that will leave these villages with agricultural efficiency so they can be self reliant. Initially we will begin with the communities of Jimmi and Senehun.

Our Purpose

Khadarlis for Sierra Leone will go into these villages to help provide fertilizers and a water supply to their farmlands. We provide basic lighting through the installment of solar energy systems. Also, we provide assistance with programs that will foster self esteem and self reliance among the community members. Our hope is that the community itself will provide some of its local resources to build housing. Building this housing will encourage the villagers to return from the overcrowded, polluted cities to their farms and to be self reliant.

We are trying to get funding to build wells for portable waters. These communities are generally completely lacking in electricity and it is prohibitively expensive to bring it to the community. Instead of bringing electrical lines to the community we want to get solar light there. Initially we will utilize small solar lights that can be placed in the ground to provide lighted pathways at night. In the future we hope to install solar panels for greater light and electrical capabilities.

Khadarlis for Sierra Leone would like to help individuals leave the cities that are overcrowded and enable them to support themselves. To do this we plan to help get fertilizers for the villagers to help them get back into farming. Getting the villagers back into farming will help to bring income back to them. We want these individuals to be able to afford the basic necessities of life. We also hold clothing drives to bring clothing to people in Sierra Leone that do not have any.
